South Maui Beaches

Makena Cove

This is an absolutely stunning South Maui Beach located in a residential area right after Big Beach. It boasts beautiful views of Molokini & Kahoolawe in the horizon, however be ready for tight quarters as there is a limited supply of the white sandy beach. As such, we only recommend this location for celebrations of 6 or less.

Po’olenalena Beach

This is a long sandy beach, that until recent years was mostly known only by locals and is still referred to as Chang’s Beach. Because it has spectacular sunset views, and often becomes uncrowded late in the day, it is one of the South Maui Beaches favorites for a wedding celebration. It is located between Wailea and Makena, right past Wailea Golf Club Drive, very close to Gannon’s Wailea.

South Maluaka Beach

Situated at the end of a less traveled road, South Maluaka Beach has incredible outer-island views and a perfect white sand beach. This is an ideal location and offers adequate parking and facilities. Located in South Maui (Makena) past Kihei and Wailea.

Mokapu Beach

This lovely sandy beach located in Wailea fronts the Andaz Hotel Wailea. It’s 1/4 of a mile long and shares a parking lot with Ulua Beach which is right next door. The name means “sacred island” and is said to refer to a small rock islet that used to be just offshore.

Polo Beach

Not to be confused with Po’olenalena Beach, this quiet and quaint Maui Beach is fronted by the spectacular Kea Lani Resort. It offers a long and very wide sandy beach with sand dunes located inland. It has a very spacious option for parking, has public restrooms and a small beach park.

Wailea Beach

This South Maui Beach offers has been ranked as one of the best beach in America.  It’s clear water, fine-grained sand and picturesque views paves the way for a memorable occasion. It has a paved beach walk that offers access to the Grand Wailea and The Marriott Resort Hotel as well as The Shops at Wailea.

West Maui Beaches

Ironwoods Beach

This hidden gem is located in the northern portion of West Maui in Kaplaua. Public parking and beach access is present but hard to find so many people don’t even realize there is a beach there. The beach itself is wide and sandy and certain parts are bordered by 20 foot lava cliffs. There is also a beautiful “boardwalk” that connects the beach to many private residences and condos and most certainly makes for great photo ops.

505 Front Street Beach

This West Maui beach is located in Lahaina just off Front Street and the 505 Front Street shopping complex. It tends to be a bit more crowded, however, towards the end of the day begins to clear out. It is a local favorite for photo sessions where you will find an amazing backdrop of the neighbor islands as well as the Lahaina Harbor and the accompanying elements.

Kapalua Bay

This West Maui Beach is perfect for smaller, more intimate weddings. It is by far one of the most popular locations to host a wedding and is located in Kapalua, past Lahaina and Kaanapali. Should you wish to have a celebration dinner to follow, Merriman’s Kapalua has stairs leading from the beach steps to the restaurant.

Baby Beach / Pu’unoa Beach

One of West Maui’s “signature” beaches, also referred to as Baby Beach Beach as it has a very shallow lagoon, offers 1.5 mile of un-interrupted beach. This beach also boasts breathtaking views of the neighboring islands and allows for ultimate privacy in certain areas. It is located just north of Lahaina Town.
